SAFE is an organisation we support that helps those facing need and poverty, especially the un-employed, to move forward in life.
Over 20 years of working in areas of need has enabled us to listen to thousands of people and understand what the real issues are: not CVs and interviews, but depression, difficult circumstances, lack of purpose, being stuck and not feeling in control.
We wrote and run the Choices course which directly addresses the needs we found. It is usually run over 5 weeks (2 days per week). The Choices course has been researched by The University of Southampton Psychology department and found to make a significant impact on depression, self-esteem and re-employment. Lots of people say their lives have been changed.
Youth Choices includes Schools (year 10-11) NEET (16-18) and young adult (18 -24). It has been very effective with excluded youth facing behavioural issues.
