Does the Bible support same-sex marriage?
We know that there are different answers to that question within our church community.
But why do some people say ‘yes’, and others say ‘no’?
Dan is hosting a book club to help us grapple with the biblical debates and understand each other’s points of view better.
The group will meet every 2 weeks, having read some chapters from 2 books with contrasting points of view.
Over coffee (or wine or beer) and cake, we’ll discuss it, and pray together.
Through the reading and discussions, we’ll consider questions such as:
To help those with differing viewpoints to understand each other better, participants are asked to start by reading the book representing ‘the other side’ to their current perspective.
Books are available in kindle or print form. Two are also available as audio books.

- How were the key verses originally understood in their context and culture, and why were they written?
- Did biblical writers know about sexual orientation?
- Did Jesus say anything relevant to this topic?
