A wedding is a great celebration, and we love helping people start their married life together. In the Bible, God’s love for his people is likened to a marriage covenant. We pray that your marriage will help you realise the full extent of God’s love for you, even as you promise to love each other ‘for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness, in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part’.

Anyone who is unmarried and lives within our official parish boundary is entitled to get married at St James’ by the Park. You are also legally entitled to get married at St James’ by the Park if:
* you come to one of our services at least once a month for a period of 6 months or more
* your parents or grandparents got married here
* since you were born, one of your parents lived in the parish at least 6 months, or regularly went to services in our parish for at least 6 months
* you were christened (baptised) or confirmed in one of our church buildings
* you have ever lived in the parish for at least 6 months, or have been to church services in our parish regularly for at least 6 months.
