Prayer and Pastoral

Prayer is vital in the life of our church – it is such an encouragement to worship a God who is powerful enough to answer prayers, and loving enough to listen to our prayers in the first place! Here are some ways we encourage prayer:

Prayer for young disciples - a weekly 15-minute prayer time to pray specifically for God to grow young disciples in our area. Every Monday at 7am. Click here for joining instructions.

House of Prayer evenings – our main church prayer gathering, once a month, in St James' by the Park on a Wednesday evening – a chance to pray for our church and area, and the mission partners we support – as well as to pray for wider issues.

Encounter with God evenings – every Wednesday evening (apart from when House of Prayer is on) – a more spontaneous prayer evening which starts with quiet time to listen carefully to God.

See the calendar for all upcoming dates.

We also have an email prayer team – a sizeable group of people in our church community who pray for various requests that are shared. You can submit a prayer request to this group. You can also subscribe to receive prayer request emails.

Pastoral work

Jesus is our Good Shepherd – ultimately, he is the one who pastors us. But he calls us as a church community to pastor each other as well. Much of our pastoral work goes on via our Cell groups . We also have a Pastoral Oversight Group who co-ordinate pastoral ministry. You can get in touch with them here.
