Key updates:
Work on the Community Hall is progressing well. Only one major problem has been encountered - we need to put in a damp proof course
Despite that, work is about £6k under budget currently, although we are still about £170k short of our target for the Hall.
We submitted a pre-application planning enquiry for the church office plans to the City Council; their response was largely positive.
Praise God:
for continued good working relationships with Snug architects and MGS builders
for the teams working hard on planning the kitchen space and thinking about how the Community Hall will be managed and run once it is re-opened
It sounds like we’ll be eligible for some ‘green grants’ from the Church of England over the coming months.
We have had some more sizeable donations to the Restore & Renew fund
Pray for:
Conversations and prayer happening about how we use the Community Hall for mission when it is finished
Grant funders as they consider our bids for grants - and especially that their responses would come back in a timely manner
God to provide all we need to complete the work on the Community Hall, church office and St James by the Park
The Buildings Group, Management Team and Church Council as they continue to make important decisions
Good conversations at the Park summer fayre - building links in the community
