Spotlight on ... Pastoral Oversight Group

The Pastoral Oversight Group meets bi-monthly. Currently the group includes Dan Clark (Vicar), Lena Phillips, Tracy King (Warden), Jane Taylor (Elderberries), Amy Currie (Children & Youth Team, PCC). 

Together we attempt to maintain an overview of the pastoral needs of the church members.  Ideally  most of these needs are met in small groups within the church community. We want pastoral care in our church to aid spiritual encouragement as well as friendship and practical help. We have oversight of those who are responsible for keeping an eye on pastoral needs, discerning the support needed by those giving care,

and offering guidance and coaching as required. We offer further support or signposting, if needed, to those receiving care. 

We try to celebrate and thank those involved in church life, previously organising a ‘thank you tea’ for all who serve on the Sunday morning teams (Coffee, welcoming, children and youth, tech, worship, service leaders) 

We check that all pastoral care adheres to Safeguarding policy and best practice.
