Day 15: High Priest
Jesus is the great high priest who empathizes with our weaknesses (Heb 4:14-16). Often times we may try to hide and pretend there is no problem. We may think that if we reveal our weaknesses to Jesus, we will be rebuked and punished. Hebrew 4:15 tells us that he was tempted and hurt just like we are and is touched by the feelings of our infirmities.
Jesus Christ is constantly interceding on our behalf. We can come to him just as we are, without shame or fear of judgement but an assurance of forgiveness and acceptance.
Perhaps the most crucial thing for believers to understand today is that it is because Jesus is our High Priest that we can approach God with confidence (Hebrews 4:16).
