Ukraine
We are partnering with Ukraine Welcome to offer a welcome to refugees. This is part of Sanctuary Foundation, working with RESET and the government Homes for Ukraine initiative.
A number of households in the church are preparing to open their homes to refugees. Please contact us if you are also interested. Others may wish to offer significant time or, if needed, finance to support each “family” hosted. More details about how you can do this will be available in the coming weeks when we are clearer on government timelines and their proposed scheme for phase 2.

We are not collecting money directly, but highlighting the following appeals:
- The DEC Committee - this provides for emergency relief in situ and in neighbouring countries
- If you are interested in strengthening the Christian response to welcoming Ukrainian refugees you can donate to Sanctuary Foundation.
- If you want to support a local Ukrainian church which is on the move with many families having fled Kyiv fighting you can make a donation via their link church in London. I am told that gift aid on this is also possible. The pastor of this church is an amazing leader whom Paul Thaxter has met in Kyiv and been linked to for some years along with CMS Mission Partner Alison Giblett who is also with them. They currently need about $500 a day just to meet costs of the large contingent of people.
- If you want to support a Christian charity working in Ukraine you can support HopeNow. Please note - we have not got any specific information yet on how they are responding to this emergency situation.
A group are meeting after each Sunday morning service to pray for peace. If you can't join them, why not look at some of these prayer resources and use them individually and in small groups:
- Tearfund - pray for Ukraine
- Church of England - praying for peace
- 24-7 prayer - praying for Ukraine
