Day 17: Living Water
Please light the candle at a convenient time and then take time to think about the name of Jesus for today which is Living Water.
Water is as we know vital to life and this name for Jesus reinforces this need. For example, He had a conversation with a woman who had to come each day to a well to draw water and asked her for a drink. Recognising her need Jesus said,
‘If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.’
This encounter is recorded in the Gospel of John (chapter 4 verse 10) and illustrates that faith in Jesus can sustain each of us like water.
Prayer ‘Loving God help us to recognise that you alone are the source of the eternal living water. Amen
Activity Think of someone who is very busy at this time of year and offer to do something to help them.
If you can, pray also for Shirley Junior School, who we are welcoming today for Christingle services.
