Day 23: Prince of Peace
There was a young boy in Africa, who had to walk over 5 miles to go to secondary school with no lunch pack or pennies to buy some snack, yet he was in perfect peace. He asked himself; why am I not troubled? why don’t I feel sad? There was this calmness and peace within him, albeit beyond his understanding.
The prophet Isaiah in Isaiah 9:6 prophesied about the birth of Jesus and he was to be called the Prince of Peace. Jesus did not just stop at bearing the name, he went further and offered all of humanity that peace.
In John 14:27 he says...

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
It's amazing, Jesus offers us the peace that surpasses all human understanding. All we need to do is accept this peace and the “how” is left to the Prince of Peace.
In moment now, reflect on a time in your life when you experienced so much peace that it left you completely calm and restful. Relax on those thoughts.
