In October and November 2017, we ran a community needs survey.
Thank you to everyone who took part. 
The provisional results are as follows:
We had 165 responses. Respondents were asked which they think of as the top needs in the local area.

supporting  older people (especially those living alone) 11%
supporting those with mental health difficulties 11%
facilities and activities for teenagers and young adults 10%
reducing crime / anti-social behaviour 8%
supporting the homeless 8%
supporting  parents of young children 6%
safeguarding the environment 6%
encouraging a healthy lifestyle 6%
integration of different nationalities 6%
supporting those with debt and finances 5%
supporting  lone parents 3%
supporting the bereaved 3%
supporting  parents of teenagers 3%
supporting those with alcohol addictions and those close to them 2%
supporting those facing domestic violence 2%
supporting those with learning difficulties 2%
supporting those with relationship difficulties or breakdown 2%
tackling racism / other hate crime 2%
supporting those with drug addictions and those close to them 2%
supporting those with physical disabilities 1%

We're going to make some decisions in the new year about our social needs priorities as a church for the coming years. Your input on this survey will inform our decisions, alongside looking at Shirley area statistics, trends and conversations with other community roles and groups.
