When the former Pope was in hospital, one of my sons came into the kitchen and announced he had died. We checked on the BBC website, and there was no mention of it. It transpired that someone had misread “The Pope passed the night peacefully” as “The Pope passed in the night peacefully” – and started inadvertently spreading the wrong message on social media.
Two letters make all the difference!
Sometimes in the Bible, it’s the little words that make the difference. There are a whole series of little words that the New Testament uses to describe the believer’s relationship to Jesus – each giving us an insight into just how wonderful Jesus is.
• We can build our lives on Christ our foundation
• We live under Christ our Lord
• We come to God through Christ our mediator
• We are secure in Christ our righteousness
Over the next few weeks,
we’ll be looking at some of these – to help us appreciate Jesus all the more.
