New year, new pattern of services

Happy new year! 

At the start of 2024, we're making some changes to our pattern of services. Here's what's changing, and why. 

1. Communion is changing to being on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month (instead of the 1st and 4th). This is simply to space them out more evenly! On the 2nd Sunday, communion will be towards the beginning of the service, with the children involved. On the 4th Sunday, communion will be towards the end of the service, when the children are in their groups. 

2. There will now be dedicated children's provision in and around St James' every Sunday of the month (previously, there was no specific provision at St James' on the 4th Sunday). This is to help our precious families be part of our community every week, not just most weeks!

• The 1st and 2nd Sundays will continue with Creche (0-age 2), Bubbles (age 3 - yr R) and Flames (yr 1 - 5).
  
• The 3rd Sundays will continueSundays in St James with Explore Together.
  
• The 4th Sundays will have a self-service creche, or the babies (with a parent or guarding) can join the combined Bubbles and Flames group in the Parish Hall. 

3. There will now be dedicated young people's groups every Sunday of the month (previously, it was a bit bunched up towards the beginning of the month). This is to help our wonderful young people be part of our community every week, not just most weeks! 

• On 1st Sundays, Elevate (for years 6+) will run in the evenings. 
• On 2nd Sundays, Ignite (yr 6-8) and Sustain (yr 9-13) will run during the morning service.
• On 3rd Sundays, young people are encouraged to be part of our inter-generational Explore Together services.
• On 4th Sundays, Ignite (yr 6-8) and Sustain (yr 9-13) will run during the morning service.

Our services page has been updated to reflect these changes - and includes details of our Sunday @3 service as well!
