Proverbs: wisdom for life

During the Autumn term 2023, we're looking at the book of Proverbs, which is dedicated to giving us wisdom for life. 
Here's some resources you may find helpful as we pursue wisdom together - "for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold ... nothing you desire can compare with her." (Proverbs 3.14-15). Scroll down to see them all ...

Books suggestions
There are a whole variety of good books written on Proverbs. Here's a selection: 
  • "The way of wisdom" by Tim Keller - short daily readings which unpack individual proverbs and themes.
  • ​"Proverbs: wisdom that works" by Raymond Ortlund Jr - 20 sermons which cover the first 9 chapters of Proverbs, followed by thematic sermons looking at the tongue, humility, family, emotions, friendship, money and life and death. Has a particular focus on seeing Christ in the Proverbs. 
  • "Proverbs for you" by Kathleen Nielson - an accessible study guide to help you dig deeper into Proverbs yourself.
